US Congressman. Louisiana Governor. Elected to represent Louisiana's 6th District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1917 to 1921. Served as the Governor of Louisiana from 1908 to 1912. Also served as a Member of the Louisiana State House of Representatives from 1892 to 1904, Speaker of the Louisiana State House of Representatives in 1900, Delegate to Louisiana State Constitutional Convention in 1898 and 1921, and Lieutenant Governor of Louisiana from 1904 to 1908.
