Clove Exline
Unionville, Mo. - Clove Clarence Exline was born Nov. 22, 1884, at Exline, the son of George Washington and Alice Leona Haptonstall Exline. He passed away Sept 11 at the Putnam County Memorial Hospital at the age of 86 years.
He spent his early life in Exline and attended public school there. He worked in a coal mine of that locality and with his father in masonry and carpenter work and later did painting.
He lived in Illinois for a number of years and later in Kirksville and Kansas City, Mo., finally returning to Cincinnati where he lived until his death.
He was married to Laura Leonard in 1908 and to this union one son was born, Myrl Exline of Savannah, Ill. who survives.
In 1922 he married Minnie Jane Bishop and to this union two children were born, Lester E. Exline of Wheaton, Ill. and Helen M. Walden of Kirksville, both of whom survive
He married Opal Bacus in 1942 and she preceded him in death in 1960.
He is survived by his children; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two step grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Davis and Opal Fields as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wives and a sister, Verta Bennett.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday from the Comstock Funeral Home in Unionville, Mo. with Rev. Glenn Lochheed, pastor of the Unionville Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Cincinnati.
