Mrs. Helen Jean Bishop, age 88, passed away on July 4, 2009, in Duluth, Georgia. Mrs. Bishop was born Gladys Eugenia McGee, on June 29, 1921, in McDowell County, NC.

She was the daughter of the late Joe McGee and Sarah Mae Proctor McGee Williams. In addition to her mother, Mrs. Bishop was preceded in death by a sister, Marjorie M. Elliott, and a brother, Douglas Williams.

Mrs. Bishop worked in Douglasville, Georgia, for a dry cleaner, and she also worked at Mason's Department Store and Gibson's Department Store, both in Gainesville, Georgia, as a clerk.

Mrs. Bishop was a Baptist. She was a born again Christian and she never found fault in anyone. She dearly loved all of her family, and she was dearly loved by all of them. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mrs. Bishop is survived by two sons,David and Dan; two daughters, Sandra Gayle and Claudia; eight (8) grandchildren and eleven (11) great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, John Michael "Mike" Williams and a sister, Joyce Ann Williams Smith.

Graveside services were held Saturday, July 18, 2009, at 2:00 PM at Pine Cove Cemetery in Old Fort. Reverend Don Mitchell presided.
