Carolyne Berglund
Carolyne Berglund, fondly known as "Tibby", left this earth on June 29, 2004, to be with her husband of 62 years, Joseph Berglund, and other loved ones who passed before her.
Tibby was born in Northrup, Minnesota, to Ernest and Malidia Hartmann and spent her childhood with sisters, Leone Peterson and Rosella Dehen, in Fairmont. She then moved to Alexandria where she met Joe, who she married on June 11, 1941.
While raising their family there, Tibby was actively involved in the League of Women Voters, Boy Scouts, the Alexandria Golf Club and especially in Girl Scouts where she helped found Smokey Timbers Girl Scout Camp and represented the U.S.A. as an ambassador to Canada for three months where she met Lady Baden Powell. She was the leader of Mariner Girl Scout Troupe, holding them together for more than 15 years. She and her husband were pilots, golfers and bowlers.
For the past 35 years Tibby was the owner/agent of Berglund Insurance Agency with her son, Brian. She was well known in the industry, specializing in motorcycle insurance. She made many friendships with clients and GWRRA members.
Tibby was a loving, devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed. She is survived by her children: Brian Berglund, Michael Berglund and Michele Moore; and grandchildren: Lee, Brianna, Jonas, Sean and Laura; great-grandchild: Joshua; and others very close to her: Angie, Rosemary, Shell and Neil.
Private services were held. In memory of Tibby. The family requests that you raise a prayer and a "toast".
Arrangements were with the Messinger Indian School Mortuary in Scottsdale, Arizona.
