MRS. JANE ADAMS, OLDEST YATES CITY RESIDENT, DIES
YATES CITY - Mrs. Jane Adams, 93, Yates City's eldest resident, died at the home of her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Frank L. Adams in Peoria about 10 o'clock Sunday morning.
Mrs. Adams was born in Knox county Oct. 23, 1846, the daughter of Alex and Matilda Kearn and spent her entire life in the vicinity of her birth.
She married Wilson Adams, and to this union one son, Frank L. Adams, was born. The son was county clerk of Knox county for many years.
She was preceded in death by both her husband and son. The husband died in 1927. The son died before the father.
Mrs. Adams was a member of the Order of Eastern Star of Yates City. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Anna Adams and granddaughter, Mrs. Marie Root of Peoria.
The body was taken to the Patterson Funeral home in Elmwood, where friends may call until the hour of funeral, which will be at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Methodist church in Yates City, with burial in the local cemetery. The Rev. M.J. Hall will have charge of the services.
