Billie passed away quietly on June 20, 2011 at 82 years of age with her family at her side. She was born in Beaumont, Texas to Eunice and William Prejean, and as a child was an accomplished accordion player. After graduation from St. Anthony High School and Lamar College, she went to work at Sun Oil Company where she met her future husband, Charles Burgess. She was a devoted wife, nurturing mother of three, and "Grammy" to her six grandchildren. She was a friend to many, who enjoyed fishing, playing card games, and supporting her favorite sports teams. Billie was a lifelong Catholic whose faith sustained her in all she did. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. Left to cherish their memories of her are her husband of 56 years, Charles Burgess, son Keith Burgess and his wife Jean Richards, son Wayne Burgess, all of Richardson, TX; daughter Kim Holland and her husband Brenner of Overland Park, KS; beloved grandchildren Daniel, Julie, and Thomas Burgess, and Payton, Mason, and Makenna Holland. A memorial mass will be held at All Saints Catholic Church, 5231 Meadowcreek Dr, Dallas, TX at 11:00 AM on Saturday June 25, 2011. A private inurnment will be held at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Grand Prairie, TX.
