An area resident her entire life, she was born Aug. 10, 1909, in Cherry Creek, the daughter of William H. and Olive M. Lown Bishop.
Prior to retirement, she was employed as a house mother for the Randolph Children's Home.
She is survived by a son, Bernard Peterson of Rochester; a stepson, Paul J. Benson of Alexandria, Va.; two stepdaughters: Marguerite Burke of Horsehead, N.Y., and Nancy Payne of Kingsland, Ga.; three grandchildren: William Peterson of Rochester, Kim Mattke of Sutherland Springs, Texas, and Catherine Wilson of New Lenox, Ill.; a stepgranddaughter, Jeanne Milliman of Ashland, Neb.; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Benson, whom she married Oct. 25, 1932, and who died March 1972; her first husband, Herman Peterson; a sister, Mabel Bishop; and a stepson, Harold Benson.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church St., Randolph. The Rev. Dale E. Moore, pastor of First Baptist Church of Randolph, will officiate. Burial will be in the East Randolph Cemetery.
Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service.
