ARCHIE ALEXANDER DIES; SERVICES HELD SEPT. 15

Services for long-time area rancher, Archie Alexander, 76, of rural Douglas were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15 at the Stark-Lapham Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Norris officiating. Interment was in Douglas Park Cemetery.

Mr. Alexander died Tuesday, Sept. 13 at his ranch at Bill, Wyoming. He was born Oct. 12, 1900 in North Carolina. He came to Wyoming in 1917 where he homesteaded in the Gas Hills area and also worked on several ranches around the county. He never married.

In 1936, he bought the ranch on Big Cow Creek which he owned and operated until his death. He was regarded by his neighbors as being most considerate and cooperative.

Survivors include: Brother, Otto Alexander of Brevard, N.C.; and Sisters: Cora Alexander Cash and Ellie Chappel, both of North Carolina.
