James S. Barnes, 72, of Tifton, died Friday, May 25, 2007, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 27, 2007, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. T Roberts will officiate with burial to follow in Tift Memorial Gardens. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Barnes was born on December 14, 1934 in Albany and was the son of Marion Vinard Barnes and Ethel Bowen Barnes, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Ethridge Barnes; one brother, Norman Barnes; and two sisters, Erma Taylor and Edna Spooner. He was a retired truck driver and a United States Army veteran, who served in North Korea.
