Sadie Louise Chumley Halyard, Age 73, of Clarksville, passed away, Monday, February 7, 2011, at her residence.

Sadie was born March 2, 1937, in the Bluff Community in Red River County to John and Ruby Toney Chumley. She was retired from the Detroit Independent School District and a member of the Assembly of God Church. She married Dale Halyard on September 19, 1959 at the Fort Carson Army Base in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Sadie loved music and has been around gospel music all of her life. She was an accomplished pianist and played for The Halyard's Gospel Group.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Dale Halyard of Clarksville; one daughter, Lorrie Lemme and husband Randy of Haslet; two granddaughters, Courtney Lemme and Haley Lemme.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 8, 2011, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Lemme and Rev. Nathan Hooper officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Bluff Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home
