Mrs. Emil {Bertha} Knapp, 82, funeral will be held Saturday at Norfolk with burial in New Lutheran cemetery. The car driven by her husband Emil was enroute north 2 miles south of Meadow Grove. The car went into the ditch and struck an embankment about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. She died at the hospital at Tilden. She was born Jan. 22, 1891 to Mr. and Mrs. Adam Gross in Madison county west of Madison in the Green Garden community. She was married Dec. 5, 1917 to Emil Knapp at the Green Garden Lutheran church. They farmed east of Norfolk until moving into Norfolk in 1946. She was survived by her husband, a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, 1 sister.
