Sept. 12, 1927 – May 21, 2011 Dorothy Ann "Dot" Ewing, 83, of Keokuk died Saturday, May 21, 2011, in Lexington Square, Keokuk.

She was born on Sept. 12, 1927, in Keokuk, the daughter of Earl V. and Laura Harrison Jemison.

She was united in marriage to Carl F. Ewing on Sept. 23, 1946, in Keokuk. He preceded her in death on Dec. 30, 1987.

Dot graduated from St. Peter's High School, Keokuk, with the Class of 1945.

She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Keokuk.

Dot loved to bowl and had been an avid bowler for 40 years. She shared her love of bowling with children by volunteering as a youth bowling coach on Saturday mornings.

Survivors include: a daughter, Laura Morgan Mesner of Orlando, Fla.; four grandchildren, Carl E. Morgan of Tampa, Fla., Katie Ewing and Annie Ewing, both of St. Louis, Mo., and Jeri Ann Morgan of Orlando, Fla.; a great-granddaughter, Bailey Hanson of Orlando, Fla.; and several nephews.

She also was preceded in death by a son, James Ewing, and a sister, Laura Jane Seabold.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Vigen Memorial Home, Keokuk, with the Rev. Geoff Mitchell officiating.

Burial will be in Keokuk National Cemetery.
