He is survived by his wife, Terry Lee Schmidt (Workman) Boyd; three sons, Curtis James Boyd Jr. (Connie), Thomas Jefferson Boyd II (Susan), and Herbert Hunt Boyd (Donna); two stepchildren, Gina Michelle (Shelley) Cauble Hill (John) of Leawood, Kan., and Jeffrey Scott Cauble (Angie) of Omaha, Neb.; one sister, Mary Ruth Boyd Wright (Hal); six grandchildren, Curtis James Boyd III, Katie Virginia Boyd, Lucy Sullivan Boyd, Whelan Jefferson Boyd, Alexis Marie Boyd, and Olivia Grace Boyd; six stepgrandchildren; several nieces; and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Virginia Hunt Boyd; his parents, Curtis Jones Boyd and Grace Sims Boyd, and two sisters, Belinda Boyd Maddox (Jim), and Georgie Boyd Pryor (James).
He was a graduate of Mayfield High School and the University of Kentucky School of Engineering.
He was employed by McDonnell Douglas (formerly Douglas Aircraft) in Fort Worth, Texas, and in St. Louis, Mo.
He ended his working career at Dairyman's Supply, where he has faithfully served for over 50 years.
He was a lifetime member of First United Methodist Church.
Memorial services and visitation will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Mayfield in the sanctuary on Saturday, December 1st. Visitation begins at 3:00 p.m. and the memorial service at 5:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be given in honorarium to First United Methodist Church, 214 South Eighth Street, Mayfield, KY 42066 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memorial and Honor Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
