Vern R. Baugher, 92, of Washington, NC, formerly of Mount Joy, died peacefully, Monday, June 13, 2011 in the Beaufort County Hospital, Washington, NC. She was the widow of William H. Baugher who died in 1980. Born in Mount Joy, she was the daughter of the late Abraham and Ella (Smeltzer) Rinehart. She was retired in 1972 as a parachute packer, working at the former Olmsted AFB in Middletown, PA and also at Warner Robins AFB in Georgia. Prior to this, she was employed as an assembler at the former Schick Corp. in Lancaster, PA. She was a former member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church of Mount Joy.

Surviving is a daughter, Betty Lou May of Lancaster; four grandchildren, two-step granddaughters, six great grandchildren; a brother, Raymond T. Rinehart, Sr. of Mount Joy; and a sister, Gloria O'Connell of Mount Pleasant, PA. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, John L. Baugher; a brother, John Rinehart; and two sisters, Vivian Moran and Evelyn Shelley.
