James Carter was in the 8th Royal Irish Hussars, in the Afghan Wars.He was born in Iden, Sussex 1861.
He married Alice Maria Sims ,they had 9 children,one child did not survive.He died in 1919, fell into a Ships hold, the SS Beltana.
My Grandad John Samuel was their son, and he married one Gertude Adeline Mabel Thorp. Their children, Gertie Ivy and Mavis Irene, Mavis being the only descendent alive, as Gertie[believed to be buried in Plaistow cemetery with Caroline Thorp[her Grandmother], Gertie died of Pneumonia aged about 10. [she was born aconduplasic[dwarfism].
I myself[Jeanette] am the product of Mavis Carter and Roy William Beadle, I have two siblings being Susan and Mark, we all reside in Ashburton New Zealand.
