Florence was the youngest child of John William HINDS and his wife Emma nee SKIDMORE, and was born between April and June 1876. Her parents emigrated to the United States with their younger children from their native Birmingham, England in 1890. They settled in Philadelphia. Florence married Albert GAST in 1898, but died in 1900 from Phthisis, know to us as Tuberculosis. She was buried in Laurel Hill on 13 January 1900. Six other members of the GAST family are also buried in this plot.
