He was an Army Veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Viola Ferguson Achens; one son, George Achens of New London, Conn.; two stepsons, William Ward of Casa Grande, Ariz., and Michael Ward of Wright City, Mo.; two daughters, Janet Campbell of Gallatin, Tenn., and Pam Dickens of Lathrop, Mo.; two stepdaughters, Glenda Sims of Keiser and Shirley Wallace of Casa Grande; one brother, Wesley Achens of Licking, Mo.; 17 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bradie Mae and George Achens, one sister, three brothers and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Roller-Swift Funeral Home in Osceola. Burial will follow in Potters Cemetery at Lepanto.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
