VAIDEN - Services for Alva Bell Stewart Alford, 92, of Vaiden, who died of heart failure Tuesday, March 5, 2002, at Winona Manor, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Lee Funeral Home in Winona.
Mrs. Alford was a retired teacher and a member of Vaiden United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilburn Alford.
She is survived by four daughters, Nell Fielder of Winona, Mary Lynn Welch of Vaiden, Polly Welch of Greenville and Lillian Hunsinger of Birmingham, Ala.; three sons, James Alford and Jerry Alford, both of Vaiden, and Walter Alford of Jackson; 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.
The Rev. Carl Grubbs will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Vaiden Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's research.
