James Leslie Buchanan, son of the late Hansel U. Buchanan and Dora Ester Blankenship Buchanan, was born in Green County, Kentucky, on November 30, 1913 and departed this life at 4:30 PM Tuesday, June 29, 1982 near his home at Route 5, Greensburg, Kentucky. He was 68 years,6 months and 29 days of age. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Gracie Kelly of Greensburg, Kentucky; four brothers, J. W. Buchanan, Robert Buchanan, and Frank Buchanan of Greensburg, Kentucky, and Twyman Buchanan of Orlando, Florida. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He had been a farmer in the community where he had lived and for more than forty years he had been employed at the Green County Stockyards. He was member of the Fry Baptist Church. Funeral services were held at 10 A.M. Saturday at the Foster-Jones Funeral Home with the Reverend Ivan Jones and Reverend Billy Raby officiating. Burial was in the Fry Cemetery. Pallbearers were Perry "Samp" Acree, William Hartfield, Maxie Hancock, James A. Kelly, Wayne Hall and Robert Hall.
