Born in Portland to Dwight and Mildred (Coombs) Green, he was a 1961 graduate of Muncie Central High School. He was married on July 22, 1972, to Carol Morehous, who survives. A veteran of the United States Navy serving during Vietnam, he retired from Sheller-Globe and Bailey Corp. Memberships include Jay Lodge No. 87 F.&A.M., where he was worshipful master, Scottish Rite Shrine, Portland Moose Lodge, American Legion Post No. 211, D.A.V., V.F.W. in Salamonia, Arch Bridge Kroozers, First Presbyterian Church and Conservation Club board member. Surviving besides his wife are a son, Mike Green, North Carolina; and two grandchildren. Services are Saturday at 2 p.m. at Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastors John Gibson and Bill Knight officiating. Burial will be in Green Park Cemetery with military rites conducted by American Legion Post No. 211. Visitation is Friday from 3 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home with Masonic Services at 7:30 p.m. Memorials may be sent to the Jay County Heart Fund or Kidney Foundation.
