RIO – Only a few hours after the death of her infant daughter, Mrs. Casper Barraclough succumbed in St. Savior's Hospital at Portage from a hemorrhage of the lungs Wednesday evening, December 28. Mrs. Barraclough had been ill since December 8 and was removed to the Portage hospital a short time before her death. Bridget Ann, born on the morning of December 28 died at birth and was buried in St. Patrick's Cemetery at Doylestown the afternoon of the same day. The body of the child was disinterred, however, and reburial was made with the mother last Saturday.
Mrs. Barraclough was born in Doylestown September 28, 1904 and thus at the time of her death had reached the age of 28 years and 3 months. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas F. Kehoe who preceded her in death 22 and 5 years respectively. On July 2, 1923 she was united in marriage to Casper Barraclough and since that time has been a resident of Rio. Until the time of her marriage she was a resident of Doylestown and had graduated from the Doylestown graded schools.
Near relatives surviving her are five sisters, Miss Florence Kehoe of Chicago, Mrs. Charles Krueger of Juneau, Mrs. Frank Arnold, Mrs. Robert Provot and Mrs. Charles Sonenburg of Doylestown and one brother, John of Doylestown. Also surviving are two half-sisters, Mrs. Albert Yonkee and Mrs. Patrick Dugan of Doylestown and a half-brother, William Baw of Doylestown. A brother, Francis, preceded her in death 9 years ago when he was accidentally killed near Doylestown. A half-sister, Miss Sadie Baw, also preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held from St Joseph's Church in Rio Saturday, December 31, Father F. Finnigan officiating. Interment was in St. Patrick's Cemetery at Doylestown. Three employees of the People's Telephone Company, Jens Berkram, Sam Johnson and Arnold Nelson, acted as pallbearers along with William Dugan and Albert and Arthur Yonkee.
Mrs. Barraclough had been a faithful employee of the People's Telephone Company for some years and was respected by every member of the firm. Her early death is mourned by her many relatives and friends of Doylestown and Rio.
