Julius was born near Hastings, MN in 1861 to Edwin and Carrie Fitch. Julius was one of six children born to the Fitch family and remained in the Hastings area as a farm hand until after his marriage to Addie Knapp in 1884. In 1895 Julius and Addie moved to Albert Lea. For fifty-one years he worked as a traveling salesman. Mr. Fitch held the distinction of being the oldest traveling salesman, in point of service in the entire state. He was a member of Western Star Lodge No. 26 A.F. & A.M. and a member of the Easter Star and has held offices in both.
He is survived by his wife and one son, Howard. His daughter Myrtle, preceded him in death several years ago.
