Clara was born March 29, 1917 in Bingham, Utah to Enrico and Antoinette Ferrari Cecala. She graduated from Granite High School and the Palmer Method of Business Writing in 1932. She was employed at Bennett's Glass and Paint and The Westinghouse Corporation until her retirement.
She married Rennold "Bunny" Contratto May 10, 1954 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was an excellent cook and loved her ancestral Italian cuisine. She was a precise gardner, every spring she planted a flower and vegetable garden on the land she lived on for most of her ninety-four years. Clara was a lifetime parishioner of St. Vincent's Church.
Clara was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bunny, brothers Dan and Joe Cecala, sisters, Helen Delliskave, Lena Chapman and Virginia Cecala. She is survived by step-daughters, Betty Ann Herricks (Norman) of North Platte, NE; and Dorothy Warner (Mike) of Anchorage, AK; she also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at 6:00-7:30 p.m., with Rosary to follow at 7:30 p.m., at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South Street (100 West), Murray, Utah. A celebration Mass will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Vincent's DePaul Catholic Church, 1385 East Spring Lane, with a viewing at 10:30 a.m.
Interment will be in the Murray City Cemetery, 5600 South Vine Street (730 East).
