He was born February 27, 1937 in Port Arthur, Texas. He was a retired machinist and worked at Gulf Co Machine & Supply for 30 plus years.
Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Nevelyn Rutherford of Groves; his two sons, Dale Rutherford and his wife, Lori of Fannett, Drew Rutherford and his wife, Velma of Crystal Beach; grandsons, Nathan Rutherford, Noah Rutherford, Mitchell Tully all of Fannett; granddaughter, Madison Rutherford of Fannett; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Bobby and Claudette Ellis of Groves; nephew Blake Ellis and wife, Lori of Weatherford; great-nephew Jordan Ellis and great-niece, Morgan Ellis.
Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas with Reverend Beverly Tune pastor of Groves First United Methodist Church officiating.
