Confederate Army POW at Camp Douglas. Enlisted on September 1, 1862, at Dixon Springs, Tennessee. Captured at Lebanon (Wilson County), Tennessee, on December 6, 1862. Exchanged on December 15, 1862. Captured again at Shepherdsville, Kentucky, on October 6, 1863. Sent to Camp Douglas, Illinois, where he died as a POW on the date of death set forth above. Cause of death: Chronic Diarrhea. Original burial in Chicago City Cemetery, but reinterred at Oak Woods along with 6,000 other Confederate POWS from Camp Douglas.
