DAVENPORT, - Services for Marion L. Arnold of Davenport, Iowa, will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at Weerts Funeral Home, Kimberly at Jersey Ridge Road, Davenport, Iowa. Visitation is 4 to 7p.m. Monday, May 4. Mrs. Arnold died Saturday, May 2, 2009, in Davenport after an extended illness. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to First Presbyterian Church Music Department or Kahl Home for the Aged.
Mrs. Arnold was born July 27, 1923, to Louis R. and Gladys Johnson in Moline, Illinois. She graduated from Davenport schools and attended St. Ambrose College. She married Duayne Arnold on June 5, 1948, in Davenport, Iowa. Marion was employed 11 years as secretary for the trainmaster of the Milwaukee Railroad and until retirement, was bookkeeper for the family business.
Survivors include husband, Duayne; sons and daughters-in-law John (Marge) of Davenport and Thomas (Amelia) of Northampton, Mass.; grandsons Joseph and Ruvi; granddaughters Kathryn, Annie, and Alexandria; five great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law Raymond (Verna) Johnson, Bettendorf, Iowa; and a special friend, Dorothy Hohnbaum.
