Tish Filla, 57, of Baytown, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2006. She was born December 1, 1948, in Manila, Arkansas, the eldest of five children of William R. and Altha Mae (Paul) Wardlaw. Growing-up Tish and her family moved throughout the Gulf Coast settling in Baytown in the early 1960`s. She attended Robert E. Lee High School, but graduated from Brownsville High School, and would later return to Baytown and attend Lee College. In 1967, at the age of 18, Tish began her 38 year career at Humble Oil and Refining. She worked in several administrative areas of ExxonMobil, including Fire and Rescue, and most recently in the Medical Department. In November of 1968, she married the love of her life Harvey G. Filla in Gonzalez, Texas, and started their family in Baytown. She enjoyed working in her gardens and cooking, but her true passion was taking care of her sons and grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her mother, and brother, David Lee Wardlaw; Tish is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Harvey G. Filla; sons, Robert Reed Filla and wife Michaela, of Sugar Land and David J. Filla and wife Johanna, of Baytown; father, William R. Wardlaw, of Dayton; brothers, Bill Wardlaw and wife Carol, of Jacksonville, TX, and Jeff Wardlaw and wife, Tammy, of Dallas; sister, Janie Halter, of Dayton; grandchildren, Reed Filla, Dylan Filla and Mason Filla; nieces and nephews, Zach Wardlaw, Travis Wardlaw and wife Laura, Sabrina Wardlaw, and Laura Halter; along with numerous other family members and countless friends.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 9, 2006, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Chapel of Crespo & Jirrels with rosary at 6 pm. Funeral mass will be Friday, March 10, 2006, 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1907 Carolina St., Rev. Dwight Canizares celebrant. Interment will follow at Palms Cemetery in Dayton. Honoring the family as pallbearers will be Jeff Wardlaw, Travis Wardlaw, Zach Wardlaw, Chad Filla, Eddie Frazier, and Mark Nagelmueller.

She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter, and grandmother, and a treasured friend to many. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
