Ada was the daughter of John Franklin Gibson and Ada Lee Moore Gibson. She married Roy M. Criswell on July 6 1924 in Paducah, Texas.

Graveside services for Mrs. Ada Lillian Criswell, 66, were under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home of Lubbock. Mrs. Criswell had lived in King and Cottle Counties for 51 years before moving to Lubbock, Texas in 1956. She died at the home of her daughter in Lubbock, Texas. She was a member of the Paducah Methodist Church. She moved with her parents to King County in 1885 and then to Paducah in 1916. Mrs. Criswell graduated from Paducah High School, then attended Clarendon College, and College of Industrial Arts, now known as Texas Woman's University.

Survived by one son - John R. Criswell; one daughter - Mrs. Ben Cary; two grandsons.
