Bertha M. Jarrett
Bertha M. Jarrett, 83, of 204, S. River Ave., Weston, and formerly of Kanawha Head, went to be with the Lord, Friday, Dec. 13, 2002, at Stonewall Jackson, Weston.
She was born June 21, 1919, at Walgrove, a daughter of the late Samuel and Ada Strickland Sampson.
She married Cam Jarrett, who preceded her in death on July 16, 9170.
Surviving are three daughters, Patricia Hissam and Sandra Jarrett, both of Buckhannon, and Debra Jarrett, Weston, where she had made her home; two sons, Harold Gene Jarrett, Elkview, and Dana Jarrett and wife, Judy, Buckhannon; 20 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Dayton Sampson, Paul Sampson, Darda Sampson and Donald Sampson; two half brothers, Walter Sampson and Carl Sampson; and one half sister, Velma Thomas.
She was a homemaker and attended Oak Grove United Methodist Church.
Friends were received at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home Sunday. Today, she will be moved to Oak Grove United Methodist Church, where she will lie in state from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m., the funeral hour, with the Rev. Mary Ellen Finegan officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Church Cemetery in Kanawha
