FREDERICK MARTIN

Frederick Martin, a son of the late Atty. J. Norton and Blanche Stiles Martin, died Friday morning at Sacred Heart Hospital where he was a patient for the past week. He was 56 years of age. He attended Lafayette College and later Bowdoin College, Brunswick, Maine, and was was at one time a member of Allentown Lodge of Elks, and for 25 years of the American Legion. His grandfather on the paternal side was Atty. John D. Stiles who was congressman from Lehigh County during post-Civil War years. On his paternal side, he was a descendant of the Martins, pioneer physicians of Lehigh County. He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church. Private funeral services will be held from the Trexler Funeral Home Monday at 11 a.m.

Frederick also attended Brown University and served in WW1.

Death certificate lists cause of death as pulmonary edema due to myocardial insufficiency, which is also known as heart failure.
