Funeral services were held Saturday in the Salem Church at Ocie for Hobert C. Tannehill, 63, of Ocie, with the Rev. Glesco Roberts officiating.

Mr. Tannehill, a farmer died last Wednesday at his home following a sudden illness. He was a member of the Salem Baptist Church.

He was born Aug. 9, 1909 at Ocie, the son of William and Lola Points Tannehill. He was married at Lutie on Feb.14, 1930 to Maggie Ann McGowne, who survives.

Other survivors include a son, Gary L. Sr., Kansas City; a daughter, Mrs. Jody Miller, Prairie Village, Kan.; two brothers, Thruman, Ocie, and Dell, Kansas City; two sisters, Mrs Gerogie Blanton, Turson, Ariz. and Mrs. Velma Watson, Ava and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents,one sister Myrtle, and one daughter Virginia Maude Tannehill/Reich.

Burial was in the Lutie Cemetery. The pallbearers were Hershel Myers, Elza Ward, Joe Wiggins, Dene Hughes, Monroe Hampton and Henry Cowin. Honorary pallbearers were Herbert Hampton, Willard Hughes, Ossie Tabor, Y. O. Watson, Elbert Cutbirth, Hugh Ward, Charley Myers and Hobart Ledbetter.
