Mrs. Elisa Barkman, wife of Wallace
Barkman, died at her home in the
southern part of town, Sunday morn-
ing, December 30th, 1894, of consump-
tion, aged 26 years. She leaves a hus-
band and two children. Deceased has
been the victim of pulmonary con-
ssumption for several months and has
been entirely unable to do any work
since early in the summer. As these
lines are written many memories of
excellent, womanly qualities arise in
our mind in connection with the de-
ceased, with whom the writer was
thrown in close association some years
past, while boarding at the Miller resi-
dence, where she was employed. Hav-
ing had the opportunity to observe, we
of truth can say that her life, though
perhaps free from aspiring, luring, de-
lusive desires, was frank and spent
with honesty of purpose. She did
what she could. Peace to her soul.
