FORT WORTH - Carl Alan Robinson, 37, died Friday, Nov. 17, 2000, at a local hospital.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Southwayside Baptist Church. Rev. Jay Fleming will officiate. Burial: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Greenwood Funeral Home.

Memorials: MD/ALS Association or Vitas Hospice of Fort Worth.

Carl Alan Robinson was born March 8, 1963, in Mesquite. He was the only son of Thomas Madison Robinson and Betty Blanche Rike Robinson. He was a member of the U.S. Navy for 15 years and proudly represented his country in the Persian Gulf War, 1990-1991, aboard the USS Wisconsin battleship. He served two years in the Navy Reserves. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge No. 925 for 12 years. At the time Carl was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's Disease in mid 1998, he was a microsystems analystfor the City of Grand Prairie. Carl was a life-long member of the Southwayside Baptist Church in Fort Worth. Carl was honored and loved by all that knew him. He was kind and affectionate, always ready and willing to do a good act whenever an opportunity presented itself. Carl's hearty laugh, wonderful smile and expressive eyes will always be remembered.

Survivors: Wife, Carolyn J. Robinson of Fort Worth, whom he wed July 18, 1991; step-children, Derek H. Dawson of Fort Worth, Denise and husband, Nix White; step-grandchildren, Zachary, Zane and Samantha White, all of Chula Vista, Calif., Julia and husband, Norman Cozby, of North Richland Hills, Mitchel and Colby Bruner; mother, Betty Robinson of Fort Worth; father, Thomas Robinson and his wife, Sandra Robinson, of Grand Prairie; sisters, Cynthia and husband, Daniel Dreier, of Fort Worth, Teresa and husband, Timothy Sanders, of Crowley, Lisa and husband, Jay Fleming, of Karnes City, Martha Harris of Joshua; and six nieces, six nephews, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws.
