Marjorie S. Anderson, 84, passed away peacefully May 29, 2011 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born April 4, 1927 in Millville, IN, the daughter of the late Orval Heiser Sherry and Rena Margaret (Rose) Sherry. She graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1945 and then went on to study music at DePauw University, Greencastle, Indiana graduating with a BA in 1949. She married Walter E. Anderson in Hagerstown, IN on November 24, 1949 and enjoyed 59 years of marriage. A devoted wife, mother, and sometimes working mother, she is survived by her sister, June Parks; son, Jay Kent Anderson (wife, Kim); daughter, Sherry A. Koetting (husband, Rick); daughter, Robyn K. Black; sons, Scott E. Anderson and Todd R. Anderson; 5 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren. Marjorie is preceded in death by her husband, Walter and brother, Marvin Sherry. Visitation will be held Saturday, June 4, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel, 9606 E. Washington St. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Riley Children's Hospital in her name.
