Mrs. Clara Smith Blackburn, 82, Rt. 1, New Hope, died Monday morning at Medical Center Hospital in Huntsville.


A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in New Hope, the Rev. Roland Lee and the Rev. J. E. Jones officiating. Burial will be in Moon Cemetery, Blythe Funeral Home in charge.


Survivors include two sons, Gordon Smith and Earl Smith, both of New Hope; a daughter, Mrs. Sid Cobb of Owens Cross Roads; a sister, Mrs. Laura Sharp of Huntsville; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.


Mrs. Blackburn's first husband was William W. Smith. They married August 28, 1908 in Madison Co, AL. He died in 1936 and is buried beside her in Moon Cemetery.
