A native of Floyd County, GA, Mrs. Bell was born on January 12th, 1940, the daughter of the late J.T. and Dorothy Worthington Helms. She had spent her entire life in Rome, GA, was a graduate of Rome High School and attended Business School in Atlanta, GA. Mrs. Bell was a member of the Shorter Avenue Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Victory Sunday School Class. For the past 29 years, Mrs. Bell had been associated with Jowers-Sklar Insurance Agency as an insurance agent.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Shelia McKinney in 2007. Mrs. Bell was married on April 1st, 1970 to James Clay "Jim" Bell who preceded her in death on June 20, 2000.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Steve Holloway of Rome, GA; two sons, Chris Stansell and David Stansell, both of Rome, GA; two grandchildren, Shawn Stansell and Christie Stansell; and two great-grandchildren, Abigail Stansell and Isabelle Ward.
