Dusty was a twenty-something Bay Mare that had been starved and was rescued from a sale. She could not eat hay so required Senior Feed to maintain a healthy weight. Bless her heart, she loved to munch on grass - just couldn't chew it up.
She was broken in to ride but due to a past leg injury she suffered from arthritis and also we could never cure her of her rain rot. We decided it was time to send her over the Rainbow Bridge in July of 2010, before the cold weather set in. Her quality of life was beginning to suffer as her pain became worse, and we are here to give them a better life, not prolong their pain. We loved Dusty and will miss her. She's in a better place now.
