Born June 29, 1943, in Farmington, he was the son of Charles Golden Duncil and Evelyn Dowdy Duncil. He attended elementary and high school in Farmington, graduating with the class of 1961.
Following graduation, Mr. Duncil joined the U.S. Navy, serving until 1970. Following military service, he completed college, earning a bachelor's degree from Fairmont State College and a master's degree from West Virginia University.
In his retirement, Mr. Duncil was a teacher at the Eastern Shore Community College in the adult education, GED program, where he was known to many of his students simply as "Mr. Bill." He often was heard to say that teaching in the GED program was the most rewarding thing he had done in his entire life.
A memorial service and visitation will be held from 1-5 p.m. Saturday at the Hutson Funeral Home, Route 250, Farmington.
