Rinehart Otto Mueller, age 85, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Danville, CA, on January 3, 2003. Mr. Mueller was born April 30, 1917 in Wibaux, MT, the fifth child of Otto and Jane Mueller, and was a long time resident of Danville.

He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps in Western Montana and was drafted into the U.S. Army in May 1942. While in the Army, Mr. Mueller achieved the rank of Master Sergeant and service in the Signal Corp and was in the Battle of the Bulge. He also served as Chief Radio Officer in battles in Ardemes and the Rhineland. He was honorably discharged from military service in 1945, achieving a Good Conduct Medal for his service to his Country.

In May of 1943, Mr. Mueller married Mary Marie Pellens, who preceded him in death in 1977 after 34 years of marriage.

He is survived by four children, Barbara A. Mueller of San Ramon; Richard A. Mueller of Snellville, GA; Michael R. Mueller of Fairfield; Robert D. Mueller of Cumming, GA; three grandchildren, Richard K. Mueller, Roswell, GA; Heidi M. and Steven M. Mueller of Fairfield; two great grandchildren, Keanna M. Whaley and Kaylyn M. Smith of Fairfield.

A funeral procession departed from the Wilson & Kratzer Chapel of San Ramon Valley, on Thursday, January 9, 2003, for a graveside service at the Oakmont Memorial Park, in Lafayette, CA.
