According to Fresno police, Steven, along with his mother, Gloria, was the victim in a double murder-suicide carried out by his father, Robert Acuna. Police believe Robert Acuna had gone to visit his estranged wife, Gloria, in the hopes of reconciling with her.
Dozens of friends and family members gathered outside the Acunas' apartment with candles to honor him. Friends of Steven remembered him as someone who was full of life; an individual who was an accomplished dancer who had a long term affiliation at Jazzy D's Dance Studio in Northwest Fresno. "He was always the person to make you smile. No matter who you were, no matter what you were, he would always talk to you. He was real friendly."
