Lillie Viola Adkins, 79, of Taneytown died on Thursday, May 29, 2008, at York Hospital in Pennsylvania.
Born Sept. 18, 1928, in Taneytown, she was the daughter of the late Levi J. and Hannah Catherine Baker Frock. She was the wife of Richard Elmer Adkins, her husband of 56 years.
She was a homemaker and farmer's wife until she began working for the following: Cambridge Rubber Co., Anecco Trouser, English American, Joseph Banks and Van Hessen, from which she retired in 2007.
She enjoyed sewing and baking. She was an active member of the Keymar Evangelical Wesleyan Christian Church, serving and participating as a Sunday school teacher for more than 50 years, including the 2- and 3-year-old class, Club House Fellowship for 30 years, Women's Mission Circle and the Sunday night children's church for more than 30 years.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are children Mary C. Adkins, Kevin E. Adkins and Tammy S. Reich-ert, all of Taneytown, and Joyce E. Reinhold and friend David Burriss of Union Bridge; an adopted son, Glen Graybill of Taneytown; a brother, Charles Frock of Taneytown; sister and brother-in-law Mary and Donald Carl of Mayberry; grandchildren Michelle Burriss, Jeremy Reinholt and friend Candice Garland, and Joshua and Shaina Reichert; great-grandchildren Brittnee, Kyle and Meckenzee Burriss, and Logan Reinholt; and many other relatives and family friends.
She was predeceased by a brother, Robert Frock.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Keymar Evangelical Wesleyan Christian Church, 1011 Francis Scott Key Highway, Keymar, with her pastor, the Rev. James N. Hosey, officiating. Interment will be in Keysville Union Cemetery in Keymar.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the church.
