Stella Baros Barta, 86, of Gonzales, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, October 8, 2007. She was born December 19, in Shiner to Charles and Albina Pavlicek Baros. She married Alfon Barta on November 21, 1939 in Gonzales. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church. She loved to play bingo and was a devoted quilt maker as she had loving completed quilts for everyone in her family including her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She worked out of her home lovingly caring for her family and helping her husband, raise chickens on their ranch.
She is survived her husband of 67 years, Alfon Barta of Gonzales; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Garland Tenberg of Gonzales; grandson, Stephen Frank Tenberg and his wife Tina of Gonzales; granddaughter, Stacy Lynn Tenberg of College Station; great-granddaughters, Natalie Ann and Megan Beth Tenberg of Gonzales and a sister, Kitty Petras of Cost.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Betty Jean Barta, brothers, Lawrence Baros and Loddy Baros.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at 10 a.m. at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home with Pastor Pam Kilpatrick officiating. Interment followed at the City Cemetery on College Street.
Pallbearers were Max Barta, Lorne Dale Barta, Scott Barta, Frank Baumann and John Zavadil.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the First United Methodist Church.
Seydler-Hill Funeral Home, 906 St. Paul Street, Gonzales, 830-672-3232 was in charge of arrangements.
