MARIE PAULINE BACA, 87, of Estancia, New Mexico peacefully passed away, with her loving family surrounding her, on Monday, May 16 2011. Marie was born on June 1, 1923 in Santa Fe, NM to John and Deloris (Cariaga) Valencia. Marie was a longtime resident of Estancia, NM having previously lived in California and Santa Fe, NM. She married Benny Baca, her loving husband of sixty years, in Santa Fe, NM on August 10, 1942. Benny preceded her in death in 2002. She was a Bookkeeper for Brian's Drug Store for twelve years in Los Altos, CA, a Bookkeeper at El Cid Stucco and a Teacher Aid at the Estancia Municipal Schools for many years. Marie was a devoted parishioner of the Estancia Valley Catholic Parish. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Sacred Heart League, a Catechism Teacher and served on the Church Finance Board. She lived for her kids and grandkids, she loved them all very much. Marie was preceded in death by her parents; her spouse; sister, Flora Roldan and brother, Rudy Valencia. She is survived by her daughter, Diana Cota and her husband Eloy of Albuquerque, NM, son, Don Baca and his wife Cecilia of Estancia, NM and Dennis Baca and his wife Elaine of Valley Springs CA; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. There will be a Rosary recited on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at 7:00PM at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Estancia, NM. The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at 10:00AM at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. William Young officiating. Burial will follow the Mass at the Estancia Cemetery in Estancia, NM. Pallbearers will be Buck Baca, Martin Cota, Garrentt Baca, Kolt Baca, Steven Ortiz, and Emmanuel Zupko. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tony Perry, Candito Alarid and Brian Alarid.
