Alan Brown was killed when the car he was riding in struck a telephone pole in Smyrna, Cobb County, Georgia. Waldo Gordon “Gordy” Anderson, age 16 and 14 year old Larry Clint Moseley were also killed. Two other teenage boys were thrown from the car and critically injured.
Funeral services for Alan were held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Marietta, Georgia. Pastor Clent Boling and Rev. Jackie Sanders officiated. Interment: Mountain View Cemetery.
Alan is survived by his parents, Hubert P. and Helga Meyer Brown; big sister, Mariam Brown; paternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Otto Meyer of Kale, Germany; maternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. William I. Brown.
