James Bruce Allen
James Bruce Allen, 70, years of age, a resident of Hill County 56 years, died at the family residence, 711 E. Walnut St., at 6 Wednesday evening after an illness of several weeks.
Funeral services will be held at the Marshall and Marshall Funeral Chapel at 3 Thursday afternoon, conducted by Rev. R.E. Day. Interment will be in Ridge Park Cemetery.
Mr. Allen was a native of Leake County, Mississippi. He came to Texas at the age of 14, locating in the Woodbury community. In 1900 he married Miss Elisabeth Crow.
Surviving are his widow; a brother, W.F. Allen of Hillsboro; a sister, Mrs. Eli Crow of Whitney; and the following children: Mrs. Homer Luck, Mrs. Otto Vieregge, Miss Jewel Allen, Mrs. Glen Ezell, Mrs. A.J. Kelly, Sidney Allen and J.B. Allen of Hillsboro and James H. Allen of Fort Worth. There are four grandchildren.
