OBITUARY--ADAMS
Mrs. H. O. Adams died last Thursday, Nov. 20, at the home of her son, Sam Adams, following by four months the death of her husband. Funeral services were held Friday at the Methodist church, conducted by Rev. Nettie Haworth assisted by Rev. J. A. Shuler. Burial in McLouth cemetery.
Sadie Ellis was born in Howard county, Indiana, Oct. 12, 1857 and died at the home of her son at McLouth, Kans., Nov. 20, 1924, aged 67 years.
She came to Kansas with her parents in October, 1870, where she lived until 1874, going then back to Indiana where they lived for 3 years, returning to Kansas in 1877. The settled at Springdale, where she lived until 1890, when she was married to Harmon O. Adams. They lived near Neely for a few years, then near Tonganoxie until 1903, when they moved near McLouth, where she lived until her death.
She leaves to mourn their loss, two children, Samuel Ross Adams of McLouth and Mrs. Birdie Petitt of Valley Falls; also six grand children; a sister, Mrs. Mary E. Thomas of Whittier, Calif.; a brother, James Ellis, of near McLouth; and a foster brother, Johnnie Johnson, of Tonganoxie; and a host of friends wherever she was known. She was a life long member of the Friends church and a true wife and mother.
