Mrs. Alice Winfred Watkins, 60, of 25 Taylor Apartments, Mount Union, died 4:10 a.m. on Thursday, March 9, 1978, at her home. She had been in failing health for the past four years.

She was born on Sept. 23, 1917, in Mount Union, R.D., the daughter of William and Annie (Wentsel) Hardy. She married Paul W. Watkins of Saltillo on Feb. 8, 1936, in Winchester, Va.

Her husband survives, as well as four children: Shirley J. Hockenberry of Hesston; Mrs. Thomas (Sharon L.) Williams of Three Springs; Donald P. Watkins of Chambersburg; and Ronald M. Watkins of Ortanna R.D. Nine grandchildren survive.

Also surviving is one sister, Mrs. Caroline Chuchick of Clearfied R.D. Five brothers and three sisters are deceased.

Mrs. Watkins was a member of the Protestant faith, and attended the Saltillo Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, from the Raymond W. Ott Funeral Home, Orbisonia. The Rev. Charles F. Rhodes will officiate and interment will be made in the Saltillo Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 tonight, Friday, and on Saturday until the hour of the service.
