She was born May 17, 1920, in Weston, W.Va., to Andrew and Harriet (Chedester) Johnston.
She graduated from Washington Irving Senior High School and West Virginia Business College in Clarksburg, W.Va.
She worked as secretary to the CEO of the License Bureau of Exports with the British Government in Washington, D.C. She married Robert "Bob" J. Allen, and they had two sons, Dennis and David Allen. She later worked as a licensed administrator of Convalescent Hospitals for over 25 years.
Mrs. Allen was past Worthy High Priestess of Noel Shrine in Long Beach, Calif., a life member of the Order of the Amaranth, a member of Evangeline Chapter No. 9 Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister and four brothers.
