DEATH OCCURS FRIDAY NIGHT

Mrs. Sarah E. Barlow, native of Shelby County, died at her home in Gowdy at 6 o'clock Friday evening. Death was caused by a complication of diseases and followed an illness of eight weeks. She was the wife of W. T. Barlow. The deceased was born Oct. 21, 1855, being seventy-five years old at the time of death. She had spent her entire life in Shelby and Rush counties. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Freeland and she was the last of nine children. Her marriage to Mr. Barlow took place on September 11, 1879. To this union four children were born all of whom survive. She was a devoted member of the Blue Ridge M E. church. Surviving are the husband, two sons, Lorenzo Barlow, of Gowdy, and William L. Barlow, of Rushville; two daughters, Mrs. Nellie Whitinger, of Milroy, and Miss Mary Barlow, at home. There are nine grandchildren who survive. Funeral services will be conducted at the Gowdy M. E. church at two o'clock Sunday afternoon with the Rev. Oscar Jean, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Blue Ridge cemetery in charge of Carmony Brothers.
