Rites Friday for Alfred A. Bishop, 89
Funeral services were held Friday in the Center Point Methodist Church for one of the community's beloved pioneer citizens, Alfred A. Bishop, 89. Rev. Gordon Miller, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiated and interment was in the Center Point Cemetery, under the direction of Plummer-Fair.
His death occurred Thursday evening at the Peterson Hospital after a brief illness. He was a native of Medina County, but had spent most of his life in Kerr County. He was married to Miss Mary Tater (Prater) of Katemcy, and their five children were reared in Center Point.
He was a life long member of the Methodist Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge, who conducted the graveside rites.
His survivors include his wife of the home address, five children, Mrs. Juanita Adams, Center Point; Mrs. Carl Skidmore of Hunt; James Bishop of Muncie, Indiana, D.G. Bishop of Salt Lake City, Utah and Ralph Bishop of Center Point.
